The most recent news was on January 22, when the Federal Reserve lowered its key interest rate to 3.5%. It is anticipated that prudent buyers will be stimulated to buy homes. With interest rates lower, it will mean lower housing payments. Prices have dropped almost 12% in the Inland Empire area since last year. The Affordability Index in California is back up to 24% for first-time home buyers. The reasons for holding back from buying a home have disappeared overnight. This is also great news for sellers whose homes have been lingering on the market. More buyers means that their homes have a greater chance of selling quicker.
